Thanksgiving is a wonderful array of wonderful fall fruits and vegetables, and most Thanksgiving meals are not complete without fresh tasty cranberry. But, don’t wait for Thanksgiving to enjoy cranberries when you can enjoy the tasty flavor and the wonderful health benefits with a refreshing cranberry yogurt smoothie, any time of the year.
But, if you have cranberries left over, here is a quick recipe you are sure to enjoy. In your smoothie blender mix:
-1 cup of cranberries (fresh, frozen, or even canned cranberry sauce)
-1 cup of low-fat yogurt (plain, blueberry, strawberry or my favorite: pomegranate berry)
-1/2 cup of Ocean Spray Light Cranberry Juice Drink, any flavor
-1/2 banana, cut into chunks or 1/2 cup of frozen banana slices
-1 teaspoon of Chia seed
