Here we have a light and sweet strawberry banana smoothie. Lots of fruit and a just little sweet makes a very satisfying and healthy smoothie to begin the day, or as a light dessert.
Its also easy to turn this tasty fruit smoothie mix into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
In your smoothie blender mix:
-1/2 cup of pineapple chunks
-1/2 cup of strawberries (fresh or frozen)
-1/2 cup of banana chunks ( fresh or frozen)
-1 cup of lime sorbet (sherbert)
-1 Tbsp. Chia seed
Mix until it is the consistency you like best. If it ends up too thick, add a few ice cubes or a splash of orange juice to thin it out. The amount you add will depend if you use frozen or fresh fruit as well as the ripeness of the fresh fruit
