When my kids were little they loved grapes. I think it was because they could make the most delicious recipes by smashing them all over the place. Over time, the smashing stopped and the blender took the place of a basketball net. This is a healthy breakfast smoothie that is quick and simple. Perfect for the younger chefs.
1 large handful of red seedless grapes (about a cup)
1 cup of frozen banana chips or a pre-frozen peeled and sliced.
½ cup of juice (Orange, or Dole’s Pine-Orange-Banana)
Mix until your smoothie is a rich texture, and then taste. If you need to, add a little honey to sweeten, or even a little more juice if you need to.
This simple recipe can have a lot of nutrition if you also include a tablespoon of Chia seed. Unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have any taste of its own so adding it won’t change the delicious results. Also, and even better, Chia seed adds a lot of extra nutritional value including antioxidants and heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids.
