Simple Lemonade Berry Smoothie
Lemonade is a great drink anytime of year but especially during the warm (or hot) months. It seems like there as many different recipes for making lemonade as there are people who like it. So, if you have your own time tested lemonade recipe by all means use that in this lemonade berry smoothie mix but, if not, use a commercial brand you like.
Basically this smoothie recipe combines the tart taste of lemons with berries of your choice. Simple to make, I think this is a real treat. If you are using frozen berries you probably won’t need to add a whole lot of ice cubes to cool things down. I haven’t tried it but a twist could be to freeze either lemonade or coconut water cubes to use instead of water.
In your favorite blender mix:
2 cups lemonade (your family recipe or a commercial blend)
1 1/2 cups frozen berries (both strawberries and/or Blueberries work)
1 frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: Peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING!)
Generous squirt lemon juice
Ice to taste
1 tbsp. Chia seed
Mix the fruits and juice adding ice cubes a few at a time, until your smoothie is the consistency you prefer.
