mocha chocolate smoothie

This is a Mocha Chocolate smoothie to make when you just don’t want fruit. It does take some pre-planning but it well worth it.  Start with:

  • 2 cups coffee (cooled).  Once the coffee is cooled, freeze the coffee in clean ice cube trays.  Once frozen you can make the smoothie.   You might want to make 4 cups to freeze at one time so you will have cubes ready for the next time you want to indulge with a Mocha-Chocolate Smoothie!

Then,  in your blender combine:

  • 1.3 oz. package instant chocolate pudding mix (sugar free)
  • 2 Tbsp nonfat evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 2 cups of frozen ice cubes
  • A “smidge” of  grated nutmeg
  • A fresh orange to be used as a garnish
  • (optional)1 Tbsp. Chia seed
