Fruit smoothie recipes are wonderful meal solutions because you can mix flavors and even the amounts used do not have to be exact. Here is a Peach smoothie that proves the point. Peaches are mixed with raspberries, apple juice and tied together with Greek yogurt. This is a recipe that can be a really good breakfast but its good any time you need a bit of refreshment.
Its also easy to turn this Peach smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.
In your smoothie blender mix:
-1/2 cup of cold apple juice
-1/2 cup of low-fat vanilla yogurt
-1 cup of frozen peaches
-1 cup of frozen raspberries
-1 tbsp. Chia seed
