A pear smoothie recipe isn’t that unusual but one that includes Maple syrup certainly is. While these aren’t ingredients you would think to combine, they compliment each other very well.
Easily add nutrition to this Pear smoothie mix with a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a nutritional powerhouse including antioxidants and cholesterol fighting, heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have any taste of its own to get in the way of the intended results of the recipe.
In your favorite blender mix:
– 4 peeled and chopped pears
– 1 cup ice cubes (about 6)
– 4 Tbsp of Maple Syrup
– ¼ cup of vanilla frozen yogurt
– 1 cup of milk (soy, evaporated or 2%)
– 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
If your pear smoothie ends up too thick, just blend in a bit more milk or a few ice cubes.
