You can boost your health and healing simply by adding pineapples to your diet and there is no better way than to mix a refreshing pineapple smoothie recipe.

Rich in Vitamin C, pineapples are from the bromeliad family, which are rich with antioxidants and naturally reduce swelling, tenderness and pain.  Pineapples also promote good digestion by breaking down the amino acid bonds in protein.

Its also easy to turn this pineapple smoothie recipe into even more of a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.

In your favorite blender mix:

– ¾ cup of pineapple juice
– ¾ to 1 cup fresh pineapple chunks
– 1 cup Greek Yogurt yogurt (plain or vanilla)
– 2 Tbsp milk (soy or evaporated)
– ½ cup ice cubes, or to taste
– 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
