This absurdly simple raspberry smoothie mix is delicious and a bit different. The recipe calls for soy milk which will render a creamier consistency than low fat or no fat milk. Of course, if you aren’t thinking about calories when you make this, whole milk will work too.

Its also easy to turn this Raspberry smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results. This isn’t a knock against flax, which lots of people like a lot. It is a recommendation for something we think mixes better yet still provides great nutritional value.

In your favorite smoothie blender mix:


    >

  • one tbsp. honey
  • two cups vanilla flavored soy milk
  • two cups fresh or frozen raspberries
  • 1 tbsp. Chia seed (or flax if you prefer)

Blend together until smooth and serve. Makes two servings.
