A Strawberry Banana smoothie recipe is an all time favorite and is a great breakfast smoothie for two, especially if you are in a hurry in the mornings (and who isn’t?).
There are countless takes on how to build a strawberry banana smoothie. The reason we like this recipe is that it includes yogurt which gives the mix a bit more body.
Its also easy to turn this strawberry banana smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax seeds, Chia doesn’t have a noticeable taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious Strawberry Banana results.
In your favorite blender mix:
- -3 cups of frozen strawberries
- -2 cups of low-fat milk (Soy, or vanilla-flavored soy is ok too)
- -1 large frozen banana, peeled and sliced (TIP: peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING)
- -1 cup of low-fat yogurt (plain, vanilla or strawberry)
Put everything into your smoothie blender at the same time and mix until smooth. Then enjoy!
