Kiwis are a wonderful source of Vitamin C and fiber and you can easily store them in the refrigerator for 2-3 weeks in a plastic bag.  This is a perfect fruit to keep on hand for fruit smoothies. One great example is the following strawberry kiwi smoothie recipe

Its also easy to turn this strawberry kiwi smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Even better, unlike Flax, Chia doesn’t have a taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.

In your favorite blender mix:

2 kiwis skinned and cut in chunks (some people like to keep the skin on)
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1 frozen banana peeled and sliced
1 Tbsp. of honey
1 Tbsp. Chia seed

Mix the fruit and add some ice cubes one at a time, blending until it reaches the consistency you like best.  The texture will depend on the fruit (both fresh and frozen) but you probably will use 2 or 3 ice cubes.
