A Strawberry smoothie of one mix or another is probably one of the first we all made. What is it about strawberries that we like them so much?
According to at least one source, the strawberry is the most popular “berry-fruit” in the world. Well, its the taste! Strawberries just taste great and they are delicious in dishes diverse as smoothies and salads.
Nutritionally, strawberries are quite low in saturated fats, cholesterol, and sodium. Strawberries are a good source of Folate, Potassium, and dietary fiber. Strawberries also add vitamin C and Manganese.
No matter why we love strawberries so much this strawberry smoothie is a delight to eat and very easy to make. It is a great breakfast smoothie or a mid day meal replacement.
Combine and mix in your favorite blender:
– 2 ½ cups frozen strawberries
– 1 cup cold orange juice
– 1 banana
– ½ cup plain low fat yogurt
– 1 tbsp. Chia seed
