Avocado Chocolate smoothie

Of course, there are any number of chocolate smoothies and an equally large number of smoothies using Avocado but this combined avocado chocolate smoothie recipe is a bit unique. Honestly, it isn’t often that avocados and chocolate are mixed in anything!

As you can tell from the ingredients, this isn’t really a low calorie smoothie. But it is really creamy and tasty and hits the spot as a dessert or treat.

In your favorite blender mix:

  • 1 avocado, pitted
  • 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 2 Tbsp. melted chocolate chips (melt by microwaving on 5 for about a minute. Stir and continue on 5, stirring every 15 seconds or so until fully melted)
  • 3 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (your choice of type; almond milk tastes great)
  • 1 Tbsp. Chia seed
  • Ice to taste

Put everything except the ice in the blender and mix until smooth. Add ice and mix again until the smoothie has the consistency you prefer and Viola! A frosty, tasty Avocado Chocolate smoothie!

There are a number of chocolate smoothie recipes around that make use of chocolate chips. That is not a bad thing but most of the recipes also call for boiling water to melt the chips. Since you also have to add ice cubes to cool the mix down, I think that is just too much water for most smoothie drinkers. Not so in he case of this Chocolate Almond smoothie.

This recipe is almost too easy to make and will provide all the chocolate taste you need!

In your favorite smoothie blender mix:

  • 1 Tbsp. Cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1 Tbsp. almond butter (also unsweetened)
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 frozen banana (peel and slice BEFORE freezing!)
  • 1 Tbsp. Chia seed (optional)

Not a bit of water to dilute the goodness! Garnish with a cherry or two if you are feeling really festive.

Super Chocolate Banana Smoothie Recipe:

Every now and again chocolate lovers come down with an itch for chocolate that just must be scratched. Sometimes that itch is minor and easily satisfied but other times, that desire for chocolate needs some serious satisfying before it goes away. This recipe is for those times.

Just to be clear, this smoothie isn’t one you want for breakfast or, really, at any other meal. This smoothie is designed to be a chocolate treat. It is not low in calories so don’t make this one unless you are in the right frame of mind! Yes, there are some well established health benefits of chocolate but that isn’t the point here.

In your favorite blender mix:

  • half Chocolate bar broken into chunks (Hershey’s or your choice
  • 2 scoops chocolate frozen yogurt (or Ice Cream)
  • 1 frozen banana (peel and slice before freezing)
  • half cup milk
  • Ice to taste (the frozen banana means less ice)

If you are completely throwing caution to the winds, top with a dollop of whipped cream.

Easy To Make Desserts: Chocolate, Banana & Strawberry Smoothie

Looking for easy to make desserts? Here is a wonderful dessert smoothie recipe to try.

We call this a “dessert smoothie” because of the chocolate syrup. Outside of that, this is a pretty standard mixed fruit smoothie. Not there is anything wrong with that at all; In our view smoothies are good almost anytime and anywhere. While I wouldn’t recommend this recipe to anyone who is trying to lose weight, it is a great choice for a dessert or just a treat when you deserve one.

If you choose, you can add to the nutritional value by including a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia has a robust nutritional load including both omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids which are known to help reduce cholesterol. Chia also offers minerals such as Phosphorus, Manganese, and Calcium. Even better, Chia has no real taste of its own so, if you do choose to include it, it will not change the already great taste of this “dessert smoothie”.

In your favorite blender mix:

1/2 frozen banana, peeled and sliced
1 cup milk (low fat, regular, 2%, soy, its your choice)
1/2 cup fresh or frozen strawberries
1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 Tbsp. Chia seed

If you want even more heaven in your life, top this smoothie with some shaved Ghirardelli chocolate. I can’t think of anything better.
