Did you know that tofu originated during the Han Dynasty in China? It has been around that long; more than 2,000 years! Or, put another way, just in time to be part of this Tofu Fruit smoothie recipe! Admittedly this isn’t the most obvious grouping of ingredients you are going to find but I think you will like the results.
If you aren’t sure what Tofu is this is the first sentence from the Tofu wikipedia page: “Tofu, also known as bean curd, is a food made by coagulating soy milk and then pressing the resulting curds into soft white blocks. It is a component in East Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines.” A link to the page is here.
Tasty Tofu Fruit Smoothie:
- – 1 large frozen banana, peeled and sliced. TIP: Peel and slice BEFORE FREEZING
- – 2 and 1/2 cups cold orange pineapple juice (we used Dole)
- – 1 cup of crushed pineapple or frozen pineapple chunks
- – 1/2 cup of tofu
Everything goes into your smoothie blender at the same time. Mix until smooth and enjoy!
