I think that Mangoes and Pineapples blend together very well and just taste like the tropics. That’s the point of this Tropical Pineapple Mango smoothie recipe. You get a little island flavor in your day no matter where you live.

This recipe is not a challenge to make and tastes great whether made with fresh or frozen ingredients.

Its also easy to turn this tropical smoothie treat into a nutrition powerhouse just by adding a tablespoon of Chia seed. Chia is a natural seed that adds a large measure of nutrition including heart healthy, cholesterol fighting omega 3 fatty acids and antioxidants. Unlike the better known Flax seed, Chia doesn’t have a noticeable taste of its own so adding it here won’t change the delicious results.

In your favorite smoothie blender mix:

-1 cup or frozen mango chunks
-1 cup of frozen pineapple chunks or 6 chilled canned pineapples slices
-1 banana or about 3/4 of frozen banana chunks
-1 cup of Welch’s Orange Pineapple juice
-1 tbsp. Chia seed (or Flax seed if you prefer)

If you have time for another before you go, here is another tasty mango smoothie to try.
